John and Elizabeth Phillips established Exeter Academy on May 17, 1781. Exeter has grown from those humble beginnings with only one teacher and 56 students to become one of the finest private schools in America. When I was younger, I had an American Girl doll. Her name was Belle after my favorite character from Beauty and The Beast. I would constantly brush her long, wavy brown hair and sometimes even put a little of my mom’s mascara on her to brighten up her blue eyes. I loved that doll like it was my own daughter. I took great pleasure in buying her new clothes. The American Girl store had everything I wanted for that doll. On my birthday, my mother would allow me to order at least three items from the online store. One year, I bought her a beautiful yellow dress with gems all over it paired with sneakers. The yellow dress suited her, and the sneakers highlighted her â€Å"tomboy† side which reminded her of me.
